What do you get if you combine the typical national characteristics of German precision and reliability, and Spanish passion and flair? Not just a SEAT Cupra car, but one of the most knowledgeable and important names in all of European Inline Hockey, Christian Mader! He is the New director on the MIHWA Executive Committee, with the responsibility for Sporting Operations. Like all of the committee, his role neither begins or ends there, and will be across everything important in the governance of this organisation. However, with his extensive understanding of the game, his focus in on the fundamental tournament play and structure of every World Cup. If that isn't enough, Christian was instrumental in securing the 2024 World Cup venue in Jaca, Spain. Now located in Spain, the German hockey maestro knows well the inhabitants of Jaca, it's hockey playing local dignitaries (be prepared to see the Mayor lacing up his skates at some point!) but also the famous venue, home to other prestigious International Ice and Inline events. Christian says:" Jaca is an absolutely beautiful place... and the city is really a hockey city!" So we can hope to be welcomed by the locals warmly, and treated like honoured guests in this historic place.
Christian is focused on bringing all that's needed to this world cup, and many more in the future. With the new MIHWA structure, he will be instrumental in shaping how we play our game. CHristian and the rest of the team are focused on making the most important part of the tournament, the players, feel well served by a professional schedule, efficient data sharing, German precision and practicality, with that special spanish spice of a beautiful spot for enjoying eachothers company when we get together again soon. We welcome Christian warmly into the MIHWA family!
