The perfect scene was set by the most spectacular opening ceremony for MIHWA, with moving and concise welcome to Bavaria and the building excitement of this ever growing event. A perfect combo to set the wheels rolling, and Australia were the first to pot one in off Seabrook. The germans seemed shook by the pace and directness of the Aussies, and quickly using this intensity Michael Haynes, and Ryan Annesley scored to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Germany fought back with a goal from Marco Forster to narrow the gap to 3-1 before heading into halftime.

The 2nd Half saw Germany continue their comeback as Florian Nies and Danny Albrecht scored to tie the game at 3-3. But Australia responded with another goal from Michael Haynes to secure a narrow 4-3 victory.
